Our Founder:

Edw. M. Plopa, CPA,

Founder of the firm in July 1993. At that time has was fortunate enough to attract and hire several talented individuals who are still with the firm, the success of which would not have been possible without them.

After graduating from Wichita State University in 1973, Ed began his career as a staff accountant at Fox & Company (the predecessor to Grant Thornton's Wichita office) and became a partner in that firm in nine years. After which, he joined the firm of Poore, Dameron & Plopa, Chartered (previously ranked in the top eight Wichita CPA firms by size) before starting his own practice in 1993.

Over the 40 years in the accounting business, Ed has been involved in numerous facets of the business. His general experience includes auditing, taxation, consultation and general accounting services in the following industries and specialty areas:

Construction and real estate (specialty in tax-free exchanges); HUD housing projects and tax credit projects; Manufacturing; Franchisers and franchisees; Wholesale/retail; Business valuations and litigation support

One of his most unusual experiences in accounting was counting cattle by helicopter. He was appointed examiner by the US Bankruptcy Court for a country and western club, which was also a very unusual experience.

Ed's wife is Deb. They have a son Brian, and granddaughter, Haley, who live in Dallas. Ed enjoys golf, racquetball and most spectator sports. Allegedly he has the record for the longest touchdown reception in WSU history. (Most people didn't even know that he played).
