Our Founder:
Edw. M. Plopa
Ed played football for Wichita State and, allegedly, he has the record for the longest touchdown reception in WSU history. After graduating from Wichita State University in 1973, Ed began his career as a staff accountant and quickly worked his way to a partner at Fox & Company, which later merged with Grant Thorton. Then in 1984, he joined the firm of Poore, Dameron & Plopa, Chartered, which later became affiliated with CBIZ. Finally, in 1993, Ed founded Edw. M. Plopa & Associates, LC, and remained with the firm until he retired in 2017. The firm name was changed to Rowe & Gorges, LLC upon his retirement.
Tax Managing Member:
Michael C. Rowe, Jr, CPA
Mike joined the firm in September 1993 after eight years as the vice president and controller of an oil and gas company and two years with a local CPA firm. Mike was admitted as a member of the firm in December 2012.
Mike manages the firm’s tax, payroll, consultation, and accounting services for businesses and individuals. He specializes in the following industries: manufacturing, retail, hospice, real estate, construction, and oil and gas.
Audit Managing Member:
Cynthia R. Gorges, CPA
Cynthia joined the firm in February 2002 after graduating from Wichita State University and working as an accountant for a local manufacturing company. Cynthia was admitted as a member of the firm in December 2012.
Cynthia manages the firm’s audit, review, compilation, and other attest engagements. She specializes in the following: multi-family housing entities developed under the Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credit or the Department of Housing and Urban Development; 401(k) plans; and manufacturing, construction, and not-for-profit entities.
